Originally part of European military attire, gorgets soon became part of the regalia of the Northeastern Woodland people.
Our gorgets are approx. 5.5" x 3" and feature a handcut turtle with stamped traditional patterns. The turtle is central to Woodland people's creation story. Our handcut, hammered gorgets are made from 22ga brass or copper with predrilled holes. Add your own necklace attachments of ribbon, deerskin lace or trade beads.
