Originally European military attire and ensignia, gorgets soon became part of the regalia of the Northeastern Woodland people. Our "Turtle" gorgets are approximately 5.5" x 3" tall. The turtle is central to Woodland people's creation story. Our gorgets feature a handcut turtle with stamped designs, which will vary among traditional patterns. Made from 22ga brass or copper. Handcut and hammered. Holes are predrilled. Add your own necklace attachments of ribbon, deerskin lace or trade beads. Excellent quality. |
